It seems like every AMD launch is followed by a new wave of secrets disclosures, often courtesy of Frank Azor during interviews with various media outlets. Yesterday, his remarks touched on possible FSR4 support for older generations and laid out AMD's plans for RDNA4 pricing. According to Azor, the new Radeon RX 9070 series is not targeting the enthusiast segment and will not cost $1,000. In an interview with PCWorld, Azor addressed RDNA4 performance leaks. Unfortunately, it's unclear which leaks he was referring to. He admitted he hasn't seen all of them, but we should mention that he follows our site, so he should have at least seen the leaks we covered. The important detail, we are talking about pre-CES leaks, not stuff that was shared this week."What I will tell you," Azor stated, "is that any performance you've seen prior to CES has not been accurate. Those rumored performance leaks out there are not accurate." When asked whether this meant better or worse performance, he added: "You're going to get better performance than most of the leaks I've seen-if not all of them. You will get better performance out of the card. How much better, I'm not going to tell you." If there's any leak that comes to mind prior to CES is the Chiphell rumor, while the series were still known as RX 8800. It claimed ray-tracing performance comparable to the RTX 4080/4080S and overall performance at the level of the Radeon 7900 XT.
